Stopped by Pilot Coffee on Ossington, and while they’re best known for their specialty coffee, I came specifically for their seasonal drinks — and I was pleasantly surprised. I tried the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha, which was rich, creamy, and sweet — almost like a tropical dessert in a cup. If you don’t mind a bit of sweetness, it’s a fun twist on traditional matcha. I also had the Strawberry Matcha, and the standout was the scoop of strawberry sorbet on top — tart, refreshing, and it blended really well with the matcha. Honestly, I’d come back just for these drinks. What really stood out, though, was the friendly customer service. Both the cashier and barista were warm and welcoming, asking about our day and chatting with genuine interest. It added a personal, relaxed vibe that made the whole experience feel that much better. The space itself is also a great spot to get work done — there are outlets available for plugging in a laptop or charging your phone, which makes it super convenient if you want to settle in for a bit. Whether you're working solo or catching up with a friend, it’s a comfortable place to be. Final thoughts: Even if you’re not there for the coffee (which is excellent, by the way), Pilot’s seasonal drinks, thoughtful service, and work-friendly space make it well worth a visit.

I’d heard about this coffee roaster before but had never actually tried their coffee. If you search for coffee roasters in Toronto, this place usually pops up near the top. I happened to be walking down Ossington and stumbled across it, so I figured it was a good time to finally give it a shot. The vibe of the cafe is kinda industrial, high ceilings, a wide open layout, and multiple espresso machines built right into the counter, which I’ve honestly never seen anywhere else. There’s also a little retail corner where you can buy their beans. I’ve heard their “Heritage” blend is what they’re known for, and that’s what they use for most of their drinks in the cafe. The menu has a good range of both hot and cold options. They also have a small pastry selection, though I don’t think they bake them in-house. They had a couple of cold brew towers, which are pretty rare to see in Toronto. As for the coffee itself, it was really good. Smooth, earthy, and topped with a nice layer of espresso foam. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I’m grabbing a bag of beans to take home.

Coffees are good. If you are after coffee that has some character rather than being burnt and super dark, Pilot is a good idea. Go for the pour over if you don’t mind spending the extra 2 dollars. You can also buy coffee beans and I recommend to opt for their single origin beans. The vibes are pretty cool. This particular Pilot is on the busier side so I often do takeaways but I do like the overall design.

A personal favourite of mine! Ordered their mocha with a blueberry muffin which always tastes great with excellent customer service. This particular location is quite large and has tons of seating for those hoping to work/study here. They offer different espresso beans for your coffee order including decaf espresso.

Love this cafe and the latte was pretty good with latte art on it. But the chair was uncomfortable to seat and spend time.
